The Hope Gathering

How do you go from living in the streets trapped in addiction to living a life in sobriety you never thought possible?

Community, that’s how!

Initially, our shared experiences with addiction united us as The Hope Dealer Community. However, what truly solidifies our bond is our unwavering conviction in the existence of a solution. This shared belief has instilled hope within us, and we carry this message with us wherever we go. Hope is found here.

The Hope Gathering is a recovery-based, inclusive community that acts as a bridge between the streets and faith. We are a people who desire to work on our recovery while strengthening our relationship with our Higher Power. We work the Twelve Steps. All personal beliefs and values are welcome.

Join us every Wednesday at 6:30pm at St. Stephens at 1500 E. 17th Ave., Cols., 43219.

The Hope Gathering Core Values

Belonging
At The Hope Gathering, we are creating a place of belonging where people feel safe, loved, and accepted. All are welcome. No exceptions. No one belongs here more than you. Your presence matters.

Humility
At Hope Gathering we believe that humility is vital to our recovery. This means not thinking too much or too little of ourselves. Being willing to listen to and learn from others.  And cheering each other on, without envy or competition.  When we are humble we seek only to know and follow God’s will for our lives. We no longer try to control other people and situations to feel more secure ourselves. Humility sets us free to live lives of purpose and meaning at peace with one another and ourselves.

Wisdom
At Hope Gathering we seek to be people who make decisions free from anxiety and confusion. We may not always know the right thing to do so we rely on our Higher Power to guide us. We trust the experience of those with more recovery and follow their example. Rigorous honesty and humility will enable us to live with greater integrity and wisdom.

Mutuality
The Hope Gathering is a community of mutuality. Mutuality is where others’ well-being becomes as important as one's own. Empathy and concern flow both ways and as a result, the sense of separateness goes away. In a community of mutuality, there are no labels. There is no one outside the circle and therefore there is no one on the fringes. There is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. There is only ‘us’. In our community of mutuality, we are here to listen, to receive each other, and to value each other.

Relationships
At Hope Gathering we believe that the opposite of addiction is connection. We focus on relationships with people who help us become better versions of ourselves. We set boundaries with those who might put our recovery at risk. We cannot do this alone. We need each other to stay sober.

Spiritual Transformation
At Hope Gathering we trust in the healing and transforming work of God in our lives. Only a Power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity. This work is God’s alone. We need only be willing.
